Hendrick Wood Creations...A little about us...

I've been interested in woodworking for many years. If I had to guess, it most likely comes from my grandfather. I remember thinking his wood shop was the coolest place. There were tools and machines I had no idea how to use, scrap wood piled in corners and in drums, and there was sawdust everywhere. It was quite the place. As I got older, I started seeing things, projects and creations, and said to myself, "I could probably make that". Many times working through every aspect of the project in my head over the next few days or weeks, depending on the project. Other times I might just jump right in. Once I had a space to work, I compiled tools as needed for specific tasks. One recent addition to things in the shop, and the most important, is my wife. I do the wood working aspect of things and she handles all the painting. This works out very well, as I am not a fan of painting, and she rather enjoys it. Another plus is we bounce ideas off each other until a project comes together and a path forward is realized.

We have most recently started creating farm house end, coffee and dining tables. These are definitely larger projects and take more time, but there is a different type of satisfaction you get from an item that hangs on a wall to one you actually use or sit down at and use to eat a meal.

Our creations are each stamped with "Hand Crafted by Hendrick Wood Creations" and branded with "3:16". This is a reference to the Bible verse John 3:16, which states

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him, shall not not perish, but have ever lasting life".

I feel it important to brand my work in this way. Without Jesus Christ, we would not be able to create and do the work we do. And using our creations to make people aware of Gods existence, just might be the stepping stone that pushes someone in the right direction. The small brand may not seem like much, but I see it as a conversation starter or to pique someone's interest as to what it stands for. Once that happens, with today's technology, they can have that verse in front of them on their cell phone in less than a minute....mission accomplished.

Some of our smaller items (small boxes or picture frames) may also be stamped with my makers mark as shown below.
